In collaboration with MAKE IT - MADE IT Conference (Newcastle NSW) we are proud to present our Artist Talk series for BLOCK PARTY 2019! Hosted by MAKE IT - MADE ITConference Founder and Director Brett Piva, we will be joined by Bronte Naylor, Meagan Streader, David Cragg + Abbey Rich to discuss practice, process, passion and career progression in the First Coat Studios Main Gallery. Designed to engage the community, artists, practitioners and educators, this series is free and accessible to all.

MAKE IT - MADE IT Conference is a unique creative experience held annually in east coast Newcastle, New South Wales. Beginning in 2015 to help creative careers and better the industry, MAKE IT - MADE IT delivers immense support through informative presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, discussions and so much more.

Over 5 years, MAKE IT - MADE IT has welcomed over 60 local and international artists to share their work, knowledge and guidance to a supportive and growing community that returns each year.

MAKE IT - MADE IT is more than just a conference. We share an entire week dedicated to indigenous awareness, support for Auslan and the hard of hearing plus Youth Mental Health groups. We are a platform for young artists to share their work to their idols and peers and are dedicated to sharing knowledge and guidance on looking after yourself as an artist.

Brett Piva is the Creative Director and Lead Designer of independent Newcastle creative studio Pocket Design, Founder, Curator & Director of the nationally acclaimed MAKE IT -  MADE IT Conference, Creative Director of Newcastle’s Onwards Studios, contemporary artist exhibiting internationally and has close to 25 years  in the traditional trade of Signwriting and Lettering, Graphic / Digital Design. Dedicated to the craft of hand lettering and its culture and traveling yearly documenting lettering culture, Brett teaches his own designed Lettering and Signwriting courses and mentorships.
