On Saturday, July 7th First Coat Studios Workshops hosted Melbourne based artist, Jess Milne’s experimental drawing class.
Driving her van ‘Clyde’ up the coast from Melbourne to Toowoomba and camping along the way, Jess collected materials that participants experimented with while learning drawing techniques.
Using found sticks, charcoal and taking inspiration from native grasses, plants and earth materials, Jess guided the group through blind drawing, line, movement, texture and initiated an impressive 1.5m x 1.5m collaborative work, ending the workshop with participants combining their new skills.
Jess was an absolute professional and we loved hanging out with her. We hope to have Jess and Clyde come back to First Coat Studios soon.
