During this workshop, participants will learn hand building techniques to create their own clay sculpture, functional ware or a combination of the two. Be inspired by everyday forms like vases, bowls and urns to create your own abstract clay vessel that plays with ideas of function and form. Participants will be guided through the principals of using clay, with the creative freedom to extend their own ideas in a casual, creative environment.
Wednesday 7th March, 6 - 8:30pm.
2.5 hour session: $120 pp.
This includes materials and kiln firings for one practice form and one final artwork.
Bring Your Own:
1 x apron or clothes that can get messy. All tools are supplied, but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
Only 6 places are available for participants aged 16 years+.
* This class does not include lessons on glaze or under glaze decoration. After the class, all final pieces will be left to dry and then glazed fired by Peta with a clear gloss finish. This will reveal the natural look of the clay whilst keeping your artwork durable and food safe. Your completed artwork will be available for collection approximately 3 weeks after your lesson.
